Well, the Super Bowl hangover has taken full effect and it took 5 Bets a bit to find some worthy contests to wager on this week. No football is tough to take, but I found some other events I like.
I couldn’t leave football out completely. I placed a bet on who I think will win Super Bowl LVIII.
The next bet is an NHL game between a Western and Eastern Conference team. Then I pivoted to golf, where there is a prop bet on Tiger Woods that I found extremely appealing.
The Daytona 500 is Sunday and one driver who has won The Great American Race should be near the top again.
The final wager is on an English Premier League game. The top team has struggled a bit and a tie could happen.

Bengals Win Super Bowl LVIII
The Cincinnati Bengals came so close to going to their second consecutive Super Bowl and with one of the best offenses in the NFL, they should be poised to capture their first Super Bowl in the team’s 55-year existence.
The key is keeping the nucleus of quarterback Joe Burrow and receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. If they do that, then there is no reason they can’t succeed. They do need to shore up the offensive line and will concentrate on that in the draft.
The defense needs to improve. They were 16th in yards allowed last season, though they were sixth in points allowed.
Still this is a team that should be around for years and I think next year is when they show that to the world.

Detroit Breaks Home Ice Pattern
The Detroit Red Wings have been a bit of a surprise this season. They still won’t make the playoffs but they are above .500 and a constant thorn in the side of better teams.
Thursday, they play the Calgary Flames, who are fighting for one of the last playoff spots in the Western Conference.
These two teams have faced each other twice this season, with the home team coming out on top. I think Detroit is going to reverse that trend. They are getting -120 at BetMGM and I like them to cash.

Woods Struggles but Competes
By his own admission, Tiger Woods doesn’t expect much in his golf game. He hasn’t played in a full-field golf event since the Open Championship, and he missed the cut.
Battling the effects of his car crash not far from this week’s PGA Tour event, the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club, Woods also had foot problems that forced him to withdraw from his own event, the Hero World Challenge in December.
Besides he has never won at his hometown event. That won’t change this week, but Bet365 has a Tiger prop that bettors should jump on. They are offering Woods’ first round of shooting 80 or better at -120.
Make no mistake, Woods will struggle but he won’t be 9 over par. Take the under on this one.

Dillon Continues Daytona Streak
Austin Dillon has had success at the Daytona 500. He won the event in 2018 and in 2021 finished third.
Dillon also won at Daytona last August. He started this year with a second-place finish at the Clash at the Coliseum.
“Offseason was pretty good,” Dillon said. “I feel physically, mentally, I’m in the best place I’ve been going and prepared for the season.”
The biggest selling point for me is the odds. He is +3000 at Caesars and the value here is just too much to pass up. I’ll take a flier on Dillon and hope for a huge payday.

Aston Villa Ties Up Arsenal
Looking at where these teams are in the English Premier Standings you would think Arsenal would have a fairly easy time dealing with Aston Villa.
But the Gunners have been a bit off form as of late. In their last five games they have just two wins, with a loss and two ties.
Aston Villa has lost their last two, but won two of their last five with a draw. They did lose 2-1 in August the last time these two teams played.
Still I like them at home to keep this close and get a tie.
