It’s college football conference championship time and 5 Bets is all over the postseason. We have a winner prediction for the SEC Championship, ACC Championship, Big Ten Championship, and the Conference USA Championship.
The last game I am looking at is a MAC game between the Buffalo Bulls and the Akron Zips.
It should be a great weekend of football and it is also, hopefully, a profitable one as well.
5 Bets to Make this Week
- Buffalo Bulls -11.5 over Akron Zips
- Georgia Bulldogs -17.5 over LSU Tigers
- Clemson Tigers -7.5 over North Carolina Tar Heels
- Michigan Wolverines -16.5 over Purdue Boilermakers
- UTSA Roadrunners -8.5 over North Texas Mean Green
Buffalo Stampedes Akron
The Buffalo Bulls are hosting the Akron Zips in a Mid America Conference game on Saturday. The Bulls had a disappointing season, but if they defeat the lowly Zips they can become bowl eligible.
They should do just that. Buffalo is third in the MAC in points scored, averaging 29.5 a game, while Akron is last, averaging 21.7. The Zips are also last in total offense, rushing, sacks both for and against, and holding opponents on fourth down conversions.
Buffalo is down this season, but they are fourth in total offense and second in fourth down conversions. They should keep Akron’s defense on the field and fatigue them by the third quarter.
The line on this game opened at 13.5 in Buffalo’s favor and has dropped to as low as 11.5 points. That’s a margin I’m comfortable with taking.
Prediction: Buffalo -11.5 over Akron (-105 at Caesars)

Georgia Shows LSU Why They are No. 1
The Georgia Bulldogs have not had a hiccup all season. The No. 1 team has steamrolled several lesser opponents and handled the close games to stay undefeated.
Now the LSU Tigers come calling and are coming off a brutal third loss that knocked them out of the College Football Playoff conversation. The only thing the Tigers have to play for now is spoiler to Georgia’s undefeated season.
Even if Georgia was to lose this game, they are still in the CFP, but the Bulldogs want to keep that No. 1 seed and also win the coveted SEC title.
Look for Georgia to manhandle the Tigers, who are still reeling from last week’s defeat.
Prediction: Georgia -17.5 over LSU (-110 at BetRivers)

Clemson Handles North Carolina
Both the Clemson Tigers and North Carolina Tar Heels come into the ACC Championship game having a loss the week before.
Clemson was a 14-point favorite to South Carolina at home and lost 31-30. The Tigers have lost two of the last four games.
The Tar Heels were a 6.5-point favorite to the North Carolina State Wolfpack at home and lost outright, 30-27. It was the second straight loss as a favorite. The week before, they were 21.5-point picks to down the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets and lost 21-17.
I don’t like the way North Carolina is playing at all. There’s no excuse to lose to both NC State and Georgia Tech at home.
Now they have to take on a Clemson team that was challenging for a spot in the CFP but with a win on Saturday will definitely get a New Year’s Day bowl game.
Prediction: Clemson -7.5 over North Carolina (-110 at Tipico)

No Letdown for Michigan
I will be the first to admit that I wasn’t a believer in the Michigan Wolverines. I thought they were going to lose to Ohio State Buckeyes. Instead, they go to Ohio State and tattoo the Buckeyes, 45-23.
Now they are facing the Purdue Boilermakers in the Big Ten Championship game. The Wolverines are going to have to take the Boilermakers seriously if they want to keep their CFP hopes alive.
That shouldn’t be a problem. Michigan is a 16.5-point favorite over Purdue and unless they have a hangover performance from the OSU victory, they should be able to cover without much of a problem.
Prediction: Michigan -16.5 over Purdue (-110 at BetMGM)

North Texas Covers Against UTSA
It’s always difficult to beat a team twice in a season and the University of Texas, San Antonio Roadrunners are going to find that out when they face the North Texas Mean Green on Friday at the Alamodome in the Conference USA Championship.
The Roadrunners are 10-2 on the season and one of their victories was a 31-27 victory over North Texas in Week 8. UTSA didn’t cover the 10 points they were favored.
This time they are 8.5 picks and though they might win again, I believe this will be another close game that UTSA fails to cover. This season they were 7-5 against the spread.
Prediction: North Texas +8.5 against UTSA (-110 at Unibet)
