Miami Dolphins Should Feast on New York Jets — and More NFL Best Bets

After three games on Thanksgiving, the NFL serves up one on Friday and then the rest of the slate on Sunday.

The Miami Dolphins head to New Jersey for a Black Friday matchup with the New York Jets. Miami began as a 7.5-point favorite at most sportsbooks but the line has shot up since then.

That’s mostly because of the news on the benching of Jets quarterback Zach Wilson. The line is now -9.5 at BetMGM and -10 at BetRivers.

The game is a first for Black Friday, following the traditional three Thanksgiving Day contests. It will be broadcast on Amazon Prime at 3:00 pm ET or fuboTV from MetLife Stadium.

It will be a nice kickoff for the usual weekend slate of games. We look at some of the best bets for Friday’s game, as well as some of the more interesting ones on Sunday.

Dolphins at Jets

Considering Tim Boyle mustered just 33 passing yards on 14 attempts after Zach Wilson’s benching last week, a change to Boyle under center is unlikely to spark the Jets’ slumping offense. New York’s defense is one of the league’s best, though, and Gang Green has allowed just 17.5 points per game in six contests at MetLife Stadium this season. Meanwhile, Miami’s averaging a modest 22.2 points per game on the road.

Best Bet: Under 40 points (-110 at BetMGM)

Watch: Friday, 3 p.m. ET, Amazon Prime or fuboTV

Buccaneers at Colts

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers haven’t allowed a rushing touchdown to a running back all season, so Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor could have trouble finding the end zone, while the Buccaneers have scored 21-plus points only once in their last six games. The Colts defeated the New England Patriots 10-6 in Germany prior to a Week 11 bye, and Indianapolis could find itself in a similarly low-scoring game in the team’s first game back stateside.

Best Bet: Under 43.5 points (-112 at BetMGM)

Watch: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS or fuboTV

Steelers at Bengals

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to a Cleveland Browns team that was missing starting quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) last week, but the Cincinnati Bengals are far more reliant on gunslinger Joe Burrow, who is out for the season with a torn ligament in his wrist. Pittsburgh should take care of business against the Burrow-less Bengals, who were outscored 27-3 by the Baltimore Ravens following Burrow’s injury last week before backup Jake Browning threw a meaningless touchdown with 1:08 remaining.

Best Bet: Steelers moneyline (-110 at BetMGM)

Watch: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS or fuboTV

Jaguars at Texans

The Houston Texans have dominated this AFC South rivalry with the Jacksonville Jaguars. They have won 10 of the last 11 meetings between these teams, including a 37-17 Week 3 blowout in Jacksonville. The red-hot Texans come in on a three-game winning streak, and 2023 second overall pick C.J. Stroud has significantly outplayed 2021 first overall pick Trevor Lawrence under center this season.

Best Bet: Texans moneyline (+100 at Unibet)

Watch: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS or fuboTV

Browns at Broncos

The Denver Broncos turned the corner after a poor start to the Sean Payton era, winning four straight games to get back into the AFC playoff race. With homefield advantage against a Cleveland Browns team likely to be giving rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson his third NFL start, the Broncos have a nice opportunity to extend their winning streak. Between Payton and veteran Russell Wilson, the Broncos have the experience necessary to execute their game plan and avoid crucial mistakes against a Cleveland defense full of playmakers, while the Browns have averaged just eight points per game in Thompson-Robinson’s two previous starts.

Best Bet: Broncos moneyline (-130 at Unibet)

Watch: Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET, FOX or fuboTV

Bills at Eagles

The Buffalo Bills avenged their Week 1 loss to the Jets last week, but beating the high-flying Philadelphia Eagles on the road will be much tougher than taking out the free-falling Jets in Buffalo. Philadelphia is 9-1 after Monday’s statement win in Kansas City, while Buffalo has a middling 6-5 record.

Best Bet: Eagles moneyline (-170 at Unibet)

Watch: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS or fuboTV

Chiefs at Raiders

Vegas has embraced a smashmouth identity under interim coach Antonio Pierce, as the Las Vegas Raiders have emphasized their defense and running game in his three games at the helm. During that span, they’ve gone 2-1 while scoring 19.7 points per game while allowing just 12.7 points per game. The Kansas City Chief’s stout defense is allowing just 16.4 points per game, but the offense has looked pedestrian while being plagued by drops and penalties en route to 22.5 points per game. The bottom line is, scoring will be difficult in this battle between AFC West rivals.

Best Bet: Under 44 points (-108 at Caesars)

Watch: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS or fuboTV

Ravens at Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers are just 4-6, but the poor record is due to their struggles in close games, as five of the losses have been by three points or fewer. The lone exception came on the road in Kansas City. A Baltimore Ravens team that lost at home to the Browns and was trailing against the Bengals prior to Burrow leaving the game due to his injury is unlikely to blow out the Chargers in LA.

Best Bet: Chargers +4 (-112 at Caesars)

Watch: Sunday, 5:20 p.m. ET, NBC or fuboTV
