Playoff Implications Dominate 311 Picks

The 311 consists of three NFL games that I will select using the spread or money line, one game that is selected based on the total number of points for both teams going Over or Under and one player projected production for the game and if he exceeds or falls short of that number. This will give you action every week that is based on trends and matchups.

This is Week 18 of the NFL 2022-2023 season. The 17th week of action had the favorites covering eight times and the dogs seven. The totals were six Over and nine Under.

The team with the best record against the spread is the Cincinnati Bengals at 12-3. The team with the best record with the total going Over is the Minnesota Vikings at 11-5. The team with the best record with the total going under is the Baltimore Ravens.

My record in last week 311 was 4-1 and my record for the year is 42-41-2.

Chargers Sweep Broncos

The Los Angeles Chargers travel to the Mile High City to take on the Denver Broncos. The Chargers are favored by three points. The Chargers are second in the AFC West at 10-6. The Broncos are 1-4 over their last five games.

The Chargers won the first meeting this season against the Broncos 19-16. Broncos fired head coach Nathaniel Hackett over a week ago. The Chargers have their sights set on clinching the fifth seed in the AFC Playoffs. Los Angeles has won four straight games. Take the Chargers minus the 3.

Prediction: Chargers -3 over Broncos (-120 at Golden Nugget)

Jags, Titans Showdown for AFC South Title

The Jacksonville Jaguars host the slumping Tennessee Titans. The Jags are favored by 6.5 points. The Jags are the home team and have won four of their last five games. This is one of two Saturday games this week.

The Titans have lost six straight games. This game will determine the division winner of the AFC South. The Jags defeated the Titans 36-22 on December 11.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw for three touchdowns in that game and passed for 368 yards. The Titans are starting Joshua Dobbs at quarterback. Dobbs was signed two weeks ago and makes his second NFL start. Take the Jags minus the points.

Prediction: Jaguars -6.5 over Titans (-110 at BetMGM)

Watch: Saturday, 8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN, ABC, FuboTV

Chiefs Easily Handle Raiders

The Kansas City Chiefs travels to Sin City to face the Las Vegas Raiders. This is the first of two Saturday games. The Chiefs are favored by 9.5 points. The money line is the Chiefs -400 and the Raiders +310. The total is 52.5 points with the Over at -112 and the Under at -109.

The Chiefs are fighting for a bye in the AFC Playoffs. The Raiders have lost two straight games and are 2-3 over their last five games. The Chiefs won the earlier match up this season by a score of 30-29. The last three games the teams have played the total has gone over 50 points. Take the Chiefs and the money line in this game.

Expect Low Score with Packers, Lions

The Green Bay Packers are hosting the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field Sunday night. Temperatures should be right about freezing at game time.

The total is projected at 49 points. Both teams have a chance at a playoff berth. The teams scored 24 points total in their first meeting this season.

The Packers offense has improved immensely since November 6. Detroit has gone Over 62.5% this season. The game is being played in Lambeau Field so weather may be a factor, but both of these teams are well-prepared for the elements.

Since the game has playoff implications, expect a conservative approach that will focus on ball control and defense. Take the total under 49.

Prediction: Packers- Lions Under 49 (-110 at Caesars)

Watch: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS, FuboTV

Elliott Keeps TD Streak Alive

Take Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott as an anytime touchdown scorer against the Washington Commanders.

Elliott has scored a touchdown in eight consecutive games. Always ride the streak as opposed to going against it, especially when Washington’s run defense is just 14th in the NFL.

Expect Elliott to get multiple opportunities to carry the ball in goal line situations. Take Elliott to score a touchdown in this game.

Prediction: Ezekiel Elliott anytime TD

Watch: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX, FuboTV
