The third and final game on Thanksgiving features the Seattle Seahawks hosting the San Francisco 49ers in a Turkey Day showdown between the top two teams in the NFC West.

If the season ended today, the 49ers would lock up the No. 3 seed in the NFC playoffs and the Seahawks would secure a Wild Card berth as the No. 6 seed.

Niners Back on Track After Bye
The 49ers began the season 5-0 before they hit the skids with a three-game losing streak. Their minor slump coincided with quarterback Brock Purdy’s concussion. Purdy and the 49ers bounced back after their bye week with two consecutive victories.
Purdy threw 18 touchdowns and only five interceptions this season. He leads the NFL with a passer rating of 115.1, and ESPN ranked him #1 with a QBR rating of 77.1.
The 49ers offense generates 29.7 points per game this season. Their offense is led by dual-threat running back Christian McCaffery, who has 14 total touchdowns this season and 1,189 combined yards from scrimmage. The 49ers also have other offensive weapons like tight end George Kittle (five TDs), and wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk (four TDs) and Deebo Samuel (one TD).
The 49ers have the best scoring defense in the NFL this season that allows only 15.7 points per game.
Seahawks Look to 12th Man for Edge
The Seahawks lost two of their last three games. Their last three losses were all on the road. Aside from a Week 1 loss in Seattle against the Los Angeles Rams, the Seahawks have won four games in a row at home.
Lumen Field is considered the loudest venue in the NFL, and the crowd at Seahawks game has been dubbed the “12th Man” because of their impact on opposing teams. Home-field advantage has diminished across the board over the last decade, but the Seahawks still hold a legitimate advantage thanks to the deafening crowd noise.
The health status of quarterback Geno Smith is the big question mark for the Seahawks. Smith temporarily exited Sunday’s game against the Rams with an elbow injury before he returned.
“Geno got hit on the tendon on his triceps, the bottom of his triceps, that’s where the helmet hit the back of his arm,” said Head Coach Pete Carroll. “So, he had a contusion there, they don’t think there’s any damage other than that.”
If Smith is unable to start, then backup quarterback Drew Lock will get the nod. In three seasons with the Denver Broncos, Lock went 8-13 as a starter.
Running back Kenneth Walker III exited Week 11 with an oblique injury. If Walker is not ready to play on Thanksgiving, rookie running back Zach Charbonnet has showed flashes of brilliance this season.
49ers/Seahawks Betting Intel
The big betting trend this season has been Unders in primetime games such as Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, and Thursday Night Football. Prior to Thanksgiving, Unders were 27-8 in these night games. After going a perfect 6-0 over the previous two weeks, primetime Unders were 2-1 in Week 11.
The points total is 43.5 for the 49ers and Seahawks. The 49ers have the best defense in the NFL, and the Seahawks have a banged-up quarterback so keep an eye on the total, that is -110 for both the Over and Under.
The 49ers opened as a favorite by a touchdown, but early money backed the Seahawks as a home dog. The line is now -6.5.
The 49ers are 5-5 ATS this season, and the Seahawks are 5-4-1 ATS. The 49ers began the season 4-1 ATS, but they’re 1-4 ATS since then.
