Rush Street Interactive, which operates online casino and sports betting sites in the United States and the rest of the Americas, announced last week that BetRivers Poker has officially launched Splash the Pot. This new cash game feature randomly adds bonus money to pots before the flop—giving players extra value and creating high-energy moments during regular cash game play.
The feature will be familiar to many online poker players. Splash the Pot previously gained popularity on platforms such as Run It Once Poker. Since BetRivers Poker launched, players have consistently anticipated its arrival, and the feature is Run It Once Poker across all BetRivers Poker cash games.
“Splash the Pot is something we’ve believed in for a long time,” said Jason Senti, head of poker at BetRivers Poker. “Players loved it at Run It Once, and we wanted it to be a foundational part of BetRivers Poker from day one. It adds a dynamic element to cash games, creates real moments of excitement, and rewards all players at the table in a way that supports the long-term health of the overall ecosystem.”

How Splash the Pot Works
At the start of randomly selected cash game hands, extra money falls from the sky onto the middle of the table.
When a splash occurs, bonus chips are added directly to the pot before any betting begins. All players at the table compete for the added amount, with the winner of the hand taking the full splash. The feature is available in all cash games and requires no opt-in.
Visual indicators, including gold pot displays and enhanced table effects, make splashed hands immediately recognizable. Hand histories provide a clear breakdown of player contributions and splash amounts.

BIG SPLASH Events
In addition to standard splashes, BetRivers Poker also offers BIG SPLASH, a rare table-wide event that transforms the hand into a shared celebration. During BIG SPLASH hands, all players reveal their cards, no betting takes place, and the board runs automatically. The winner receives the largest share of the pot. The remaining portion is distributed evenly among the other players in the hand.
“From a player’s perspective, Splash the Pot is one of those features that just feels good,” said Jesse Wilke, director of poker marketing at BetRivers Poker. “You’re playing the same cash games you always do, and suddenly there’s extra money in the pot that anyone can win. It adds energy to the table, rewards engagement, and gives players something extra to play for, creating fun and memorable moments. We’re excited to have Splash the Pot live, and we plan to layer on even more excitement with some great promotions featuring it in the coming months.”
