William Hill Storms New Jersey

The UK-based mobile sports betting provider has launched in the Garden State, with base operations at Monmouth Park, Atlantic City’s Tropicana, and the Ocean Casino Resort, also on the AC Boardwalk. Here’s the scoop.

William Hill is a proven name in the sports betting world. It’s risen to become one of the biggest online sports betting businesses in the UK and throughout Europe.

Now it’s looking to repeat that success with online sports betting platforms in New Jersey and Nevada.

While William Hill has more than 70 live sportsbooks in Nevada, it’s also entered the New Jersey market with sportsbooks at Monmouth Racetrack in Oceanport and at two Atlantic City casinos—the Tropicana and the Ocean Casino Resort.

Those partnerships have allowed it to launch an online sports betting app in New Jersey to join its online Nevada app. The apps can be downloaded for iPhone through the iTunes store or directly for Android. In the U.S., you must be physically located in the state where you’re signed up to play. In other words, the sites will use geolocation programs to ensure you’re physically within the borders of Nevada or New Jersey when playing.

In both states, you can get a bonus of up to $50 simply by signing up, and a 10 percent bonus on your first deposit up to $500. Deposits can be made online or at some live William Hill sports books, such as Monmouth Park or at the Ocean Casino Resort.

Once you’re in, you can enjoy the benefits of William Hill’s longstanding experience with online betting. Along with simple straight bets on the outcomes of games, players can make parlay bets—bets combining wagers on multiple games—and proposition bets, or bets on individual outcomes in games, such as which team will be the next to score.

Prop bets can be made before the game or in-play, meaning bets are taken as the game is underway (will the next batter strike out, for example).

There are also teaser bets which shift betting odds and round robins combining several parlay bets.

What about promotions? In Nevada, William Hill US grants special rewards points for betting that can be turned into cash and a number of parlay contests throughout the year—such as a college bowl game betting contest. William Hill’s New Jersey site has yet to offer promotions but expect them soon.

Perhaps most importantly for new players, William Hill offers an extensive list of guides for betting on each sport. Odds, point spreads and under/over lines can be confusing to a novice. Fortunately, William Hill has the know-how and the experience to make sports betting simple and fun.
