Churchill Downs Partners with Kambi, GAN

Churchill Downs is partnering with platform supplier GAN and sportsbook technology supplier Kambi in developing an online sportsbook under the operator’s BetAmerica brand in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The operator has used the SBTech platform and sportsbook for its BetAmerica brand in the past, but the BetAmerica brand “has made relatively limited headway to date in New Jersey and Pennsylvania,” according to a recent article in OnlinePokerReport, a sister publication of PlayPennsylvania.

In February, BetAmerica was last in terms of handle and revenue among Pennsylvania sportsbooks. Churchill Downs announced plans to enter the Pennsylvania gaming market in August 2018, assuming the operation of Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin and buying Presque Isle Downs & Casino.

GAN CEO Dermot Smurfit also told PlayPennsylvania the deal would displace an existing US B2B provider, and the new product could be deployed in Michigan, Tennessee, and Illinois.
