Maverick To Launch 3 Colorado Sportsbook Locations

Maverick Gaming will partner with IGT to launch sportsbook at its three Colorado casinos: Grand Z Casino and Johnny Z’s Casino in Central City, and Z Casino in Black Hawk, it announced this week.

The Las Vegas-based company will use International Game Technology’s PlaySports sports betting platform which offers both a Maverick branded mobile wagering app and self-service kiosks.

Maverick bought the casinos last December. Maverick COO Justin Beltram commented, “IGT’s comprehensive PlaySports technology will enable Play Maverick Sports to engage new players and enhance our portfolio.”

According to a spokesman for IGT, the company has expanded its sports betting reach into 15 states.

Maverick has four casinos in Nevada and 19 commercial card rooms in Washington state, where he lobbied intensely earlier this year to be allowed to operate sportsbook. However, the legislature limited sportsbook to tribal casinos.
