Joe Asher has a long history in sports betting. He began his career calling horse races in his native Delaware and later helped that state become only the second state outside of Nevada to legalize sports betting. He later ran the William Hill sports books until it was bought by Caesars and now is president of IGT’s PlaySports, which provides technology to many of the leading online sports books including the market leader FanDuel. He’s seen wagering on many Super Bowls over the years and he offers his expertise on this year’s contest in Las Vegas, how the variety of prop bets grows every year, and why the matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs should encourage a record amount of bets. He sat down with iGP President Roger Gros at the IGT headquarters in Las Vegas in January.
