The Illini scored 8 points in just 24 seconds to force the extra period! Not to be outdone, Louisville clawed back from 20 points down to take down West Virginia 93–85 in another OT classic.

On This Day In Sports History

On March 25, 1961, first-year coach Ed Jucker led Cincinnati to a massive 70–65 OT upset over #1 Ohio State to win the NCAA title! 🏆 The Buckeyes were the undefeated defending champs on a 32-game win streak, but the Bearcats played spoiler in their first meeting since 1921. Proving it was no fluke, Cincinnati beat top-ranked OSU again in the 1962 title rematch!
