Organized wagering on horse racing has been around since just after the Civil War, and the Sport of Kings has a long, storied history in the United States. Famous racetracks such as Santa Anita Park in Southern California, Belmont Park in New York, Churchill Downs in Kentucky and Pimlico Park in Maryland have hosted some of the most iconic races in history.
