NFL Best Betting Teams and Trends Through Week 10

A big part of the excitement in NFL betting comes from the spreads. Those key points—and even those tricky half-points—can make or break your Sunday bets. Here’s a look at which teams have been performing best against the spread, not just in the win column.

The Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, and New England Patriots are the three best betting teams in the NFL this season. The Seahawks and Rams are both 7-2 against the spread (ATS), and the Patriots have a 7-3 ATS record.

The New Orleans Saints and Washington Commanders are the worst betting teams this season. Both of them are 3-7 ATS.

At the start of the second half of the NFL season, we have ample size to determine whether we continue to back the trends or bet against them.

Seattle Surprise

The Seahawks are 7-2 straight up and occupy first place in the top-heavy NFC West. Their two losses were determined by seven total points. They’re also one of the hottest betting teams in the NFL with a 7-1 ATS run over their last eight games and covered four in a row.

Seattle is undefeated on the road this season at 4-0, and they’re also 4-0 ATS in away games. They will be tested in the next four weeks with three road opponents.

The Seahawks’ unblemished road record will be at stake when they visit SoFi Stadium to battle the Rams this weekend. First place in the division is on the line when the top two teams in the NFC square off.

The Seahawks’ schedule then eases up with the Tennessee Titans (3-6 ATS) in Nashville in Week 12, a home game against the Minnesota Vikings (4-5 ATS) in Week 13, at the Atlanta Falcons (4-4-1 ATS) in Week 14. In mid-December, the Seahawks face back-to-back tough opponents when the Colts (6-3-1) and Rams fly up to Seattle.

Stafford MVP Chatter in L.A.

Matthew Stafford leads the NFL with 25 touchdown passes and only two interceptions in nine games. He’s putting up MVP numbers for the Rams even though he’s been battling a lingering back injury. Stafford was not even in the Top 15 on BetMGM’s awards board at the start of the season, and he’s currently second overall to win the MVP at +300 odds.

The dominant Rams are now 7-2 overall, and they saw their Super Bowl odds vastly improve to +650. They won and covered four games in a row since an overtime loss against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5. They avenged that 3-point loss with a convincing 42-26 victory over the 49ers in Week 10.

The Rams face a more difficult remaining schedule than the Seahawks, so their covering bonanza might come to an end. They play home games against the Tampa Bay Bucs (5-4 ATS) in Week 12 and the Lions (6-3 ATS) in Week 14. They also battle divisional foes like the Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals (5-4 ATS) twice in the second half of the season. The division title and playoff seeding could be determined by how the Rams handle the Seahawks this weekend.

Surging Patriots

The Patriots are 8-2 overall, including 5-0 on the road. They’re also 6-1 ATS in their last seven games. They found their groove under new head coach Mike Vrabel, and quarterback Drake Maye rocketed to the top of the awards board. Maye is currently at +250 odds to win the MVP according to BetMGM.

Skeptics are quick to point out the Patriots won eight games courtesy of an easy schedule. Don’t overlook their road victories against the Bills in Week 5 before they held off Baker Mayfield and the Bucs in Week 10.

The Patriots’ soft schedule continues with upcoming home games against the New York Jets (5-4 ATS) in Week 11 and the New York Giants (5-5 ATS) in Week 13, plus a road contest against the Cincinnati Bengals (3-6 ATS) squeezed in between. If Maye stays hot, it looks like you could keep backing the Patriots until their bye.

After their bye in Week 14, the Pats have a rematch against the Bills (4-5 ATS) at home and then square off against the Ravens (4-5 ATS) in Baltimore in Week 16.

Worst Betting Squads: Saints and Commanders

The outlook for the New Orleans Saints entering this season was grim, which is why they were at the bottom of the win totals board. They’re as bad as expected despite a divisional upset over the Carolina Panthers in Week 10.

The Saints are currently 2-8 overall and 3-7 ATS, but 1-4 ATS over their last five games. They went 1-1 overall since benching Spencer Rattler in favor of rookie Tyler Shough. Despite drafting Rattler in 2024 and Shough in 2025, it looks like the Saints will tank the remainder of the season to secure the #1 pick. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza saw his draft stock skyrocket after leading Indiana to an undefeated season so far.

The Washington Commanders saw their season quickly go off the rails with a banged-up Jayden Daniels. Last year’s Offensive Rookie of the Year missed multiple games earlier in the season with a sore knee before he sustained a freak elbow injury in Week 9. With Daniels out for the remainder of the season, backup Marcus Mariota is now under center.

The Commanders are 3-7 straight up and ATS this season, but they went 0-5 ATS with Mariota as a starter. They have a long journey to Europe in Week 11 to play an international game against the Miami Dolphins (5-5 ATS) in Spain. After the bye in Week 12, the Commanders host the Denver Broncos (4-5-1 ATS) and visit the Minnesota Vikings (4-5 ATS). They also have two games against the Philadelphia Eagles (6-3 ATS) in the last three weeks of the season.

Keep an eye on three teams who are 3-6 ATS, including the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and Tennessee Titans. The Browns are 2-7 overall and only 1-4 ATS since they traded veteran gunslinger Joe Flacco, and rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel took over as the starter. The Bengals are 3-6 overall, but have dropped six out of their last seven games since they lost Joe Burrow to an injury. They also went 2-5 ATS in their last seven. Meanwhile, the one-win Titans are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games.
