With online gaming the only game in town amid the industrywide Covid-19 shutdown, Pennsylvania predictably recorded a huge jump in iGaming revenues for April, the first entire month of the casino closure.
Online slot machines, table games and poker logged $27.3 million in revenues for April, a 73 percent jump over the $12.9 million generated in March, when casinos were open for half the month. Pennsylvania’s online casinos began operation in July 2019, so year-on-year comparisons will have to wait for the summer.
Overall gaming revenues were down 84 percent for April compared to April 2019, with all this year’s new gaming revenue earned online.
