Treasures of Kongar

Developer: Play’n GO

RTP*: 84.2%-96.2%

Release Date: December 11

*The RTP, or “Return to Player” percentage, reflects the percentage of all wagers on a game that are returned, collectively, to players as wins. It is also known as the payback percentage. Some RTP percentages are listed here as a range available to operators, but an RTP of around 96 percent is typical of online casino games.

This game offers a theme built around a King Kong-like ape and ancient treasures in a jungle setting. The format is a five-by-four reel array, which results in 1,024 ways to win on each spin. The top jackpot is 15,000 times the bet.

The RTP varies, but the best one, and most common online, is at 96.2 percent. The game features wild symbols, and when Kongar appears above the reels roaring, he can award high-paying “Kongar Coins,” which can reveal multipliers of 2X or 3X applied to winning combinations.

Kongar also appears to collect “gemstones” as they land on the reels, delivering them back to the screen at random, two or three at a time, as wild symbols or multipliers.

The main feature is a free-spin bonus. Three, four or five scatter symbols trigger eight, 12 or 15 free games, respectively. The Kongar symbols pay more on free spins, and you can randomly be awarded up to five Kongar Coins, with multipliers of up to 5X that boost all wins. There also are symbols that award extra free spins.

Kraken’s Cove

Developer: Relax Gaming

RTP: 96.1%

Release Date: December 11

This monster-of-the-deep theme plays out on a screen depicting an underwater scene, with the “reels” appearing as a seven-by-seven grid of symbols. Each time the spin button is clicked, the prior grid disappears and new symbols fall into place. Wins come in “clusters” of five symbols, adjacent horizontally and vertically.

It is a “cascading” game—whenever wins appear, those symbols disappear and new symbols cascade into their spots. This way, it’s possible to land several wins on a single spin.

The “Ship Wild” symbol substitutes for all regular symbols, and can be reached multiple times in the same round, including a multiplier that increases by one when landing in a winning cluster. The symbol is present on every spin.

Each time it lands, the Ship Wild symbol moves closer to a “hot spot” in the center of the grid. When it reaches that spot, it transforms into a 2X, 3X, 4X or 5X multiplier and expands to cover several spots, potentially multiplying several wins. The symbol then returns to a random spot on the grid. The Ship Wild can reach the hot spot more than once in the same game round, increasing the size it can expand to and keeping the achieved multiplier. The multiplier increases each time the ship lands within a winning cluster.

There is also a free-spin round, in which the Ship Wild symbol remains in its place on the grid, the multiplier increasing by one with every winning cluster that forms around it.

When free spins trigger, before they start, players can gamble for a greater number of free spins, up to 20, and/or an improved starting Ship Wild multiplier value, up to 50. Successful gambles move players to the next highest level. Losing gambles drop players to the next lowest value. If there is no lower value, play returns to the base game.

There is a “Feature Buy” button that allows players to buy free spins for 50 times the bet, or upgraded free spins for 250 times the bet.
